Well, we have really enjoyed being home the last few days and since we are some of the fortunate ones that have power, we have got lots accomplished and really enjoyed spending time together. But, on the other hand we feel so bad for those that have been without power, water, and phones, and most of all for the ones that are working day and night to help restore everything. Yesterday, Hallie and her daddy decided to go out and play in the snow for a little while. They had a snow ball fight, played on the swing set, and then came in to warm up with some good hot chocolate. Hannah and I hung out inside where it was warm. Since Kyle has been out of school, he has been working on my "honey do list" (if that is what you would want to call it). We have had some things in our basement that we had never got finished since we moved in because Kyle had an injury in the middle of it, and we just had to quit. So, now we are trying to work on the weekends and at night while it is to cold to do anything else to get it finished. He finished laying the slate on our walls to complete our fireplace in the basement, so I had to include a pic of it. I am so happy to mark this chore off my list! And, I am so proud of the job he did and love how it turned out. Now, I just have to go shopping for some decor to add to it. I included some pictures of the snow fun and of my sweet Hannah! She is growing and changing every day! Tonight Hannah and I are enjoying some quite time, while daddy and Hallie headed to dance class and a supper date at Fazolis. Tomorrow we have to start back to work on the next item on our list... Painting (which I hate..because I get more on me than the walls). Just maybe...(fingers crossed) Kyle will let me pass on this chore and I can just take care of the kiddos! Hope everyone is staying warm and cozy!

Girl's Night Out Was A Huge Hit!

Well, I can definitely say my "Girl's" Night Out was great! I forgot my camera (a huge mistake for a professional blogger..as I like to think of myself), but some of my blogger sisters remembered theirs. Therefore, you can refer to their blogs if you would like to view some pics. Me, Emily, Allie, and Alicia met up with Carol, Stephanie, and Leslie and started our great night out by having dinner at Buckhead. We enjoyed each others company and then headed over to the movie theatre to catch a great movie, Bride Wars. So, for everyone that has emailed me or asked for a review, in my book it is a must see! However, I don't think it is a movie to go see with you husband or significant other, but definitely a movie to catch with girlfriends. After laughing lots and some even crying, we finished the movie and decided to head home. One back set! My keys were no where to be found, and I was the driver. After panicking and going to every counter in the movie theatre, some one had found them in the bathroom and turned them in. Thank Goodness! They must have fallen out of my purse when I went to the bathroom before the movie started. After we got in the car and looked at the clock, we decided we still had a little time to spend together, so me, Allie, Emily, and Alicia headed to Starbucks to grab some coffee and hot chocolate. Emily had never been into Starbucks because she is not a coffee drinker, but I think we have her converted to a Starbucks hot chocolate drinker now. We laughed some more, and some more, and some more, and then we decided to call it a night. On the way home we decided that we would make this a monthly ritual. We already have the next movie in mind for February, "Confessions Of A Shopaholic," most of all because we can all relate to that term very well. Makes me think back to when Kyle and I first got married and I used to leave the bags in the car until he was gone because I didn't want him to know how much I spent! Boy has that changed! He might still complain a little, but he knows it doesn't do any good. Shopping is just an addiction that I can't seem to kick. However, I must say that I am a bargain hunter, and nothing makes me feel any better than to find a good deal! This was only the second time I had been out with friends since Hannah was born, but I really enjoyed myself. I used to always feel so guilty for leaving my sweet girls anytime at all, but Kyle has really encouraged me to spend time with friends and do things for myself too. He told me that he wants me to plan something once a month and he will more than gladly fill his "daddy" responsibilities. They spent time with Grandmother and Papa listening to Hallie sing on the karaoke machine and watching Hannah try her best to sing too. Thanks girls for a great night out! I am looking forward to our next adventure. I still think we need to have A BLOGGER BUDDIES NIGHT OUT TOO!

This week has been busy... Mommy has had lots going on at work trying to get new clients enrolled into her adult day health program, and almost every week for daddy is now rather eventful. However, I managed to snap some shots of some events that we shared at home this week. Hallie is my little cook! Every week I try to let her help me bake something, so last Sunday we started practicing making cupcakes for her upcoming Valentine's party. She helped break the eggs, stir the batter, icing the cupcakes, and then her favorite thing of all...decorate them. Daddy was our taste tester, and he said they were delicious...must of been because we made 22 and by Tuesday of the following week they were all gone (BTW, I only had 4)! Then, on Wed. of the week, Hallie decided that I needed some photos of her and Hannah in their PBK towels. Almost everytime we have bath time I get to wrap up my "Big" sister Frog and my "Lil" sister Cat. Hallie loves the towels and has so much fun pretending to be a frog as she jumps all around the bathroom putting on her many lotions and perfumes! I don't know if you that have little girls are like mine, but she has to have her Bath and Body and Victoria Secret lotion and perfumes just like Mommy! However, sometimes she has so many scents on that I am not sure what she smells like LOL! Oh well, at least she is clean. I had a hard time getting a picture that wasn't a little blurred, because Hannah is always on the move now. I have a new camera on my Valentine list for Kyle..LOL...because the one I currently have takes to long to take the picture. If anyone has any suggestions of a good digital camera, please let me know. Then, on Friday we ventured to see Dr. Kries for Hannah's four month shots (which is always so dreaded by mommy) and well-baby visit. I got her all stripped down and to the scales, which she weighed 15 lbs. 8 oz. She was 75% in her height and weight for her age. Hallie weiged 17 lbs 6 oz. at four month checkup, and with her birth weight she was always off the charts in all categories. Hannah is growing so fast, and I love everyday kissing on her fat little cheeks! And last but not least, Hallie requested that I take some pictures of her and Hannah in their overalls. Grandmother Marcia bought Hallie some overalls for Christmas because she loves to help her daddy work outside and ride on the tractor. She loves them and they are so cute on her! Hope everyone has had a good week. I am looking forward to tonight, as I am getting to have a "Girls" Night Out. Me and a few friends are going to have dinner and watch "Bride Wars." I know we will have fun!

Wow, long time no post! A lot has been going on in the last couple of weeks and it just seems like I have been busier than ever. I am back at work now, and after being off for 14 weeks, it sure has took some getting used to. The first couple of days there were definitely a lot of tears shed, but after that I just realized I had to suck it up and get on with the program. My work schedule is great, and I do get to be home with the girls a lot. Of course, Nana has made things so much easier by coming to the house and taking care of my little angels (she also does lots of things in the house that makes my job at home much easier). She makes our bed so good everyday (because most of the time I leave the girls in it when I leave for work), that Kyle tells her he feels like he is at a Motel when he comes to bed at night. Most IMPORTANTLY, Hannah Claire turned 4 months old yesterday, and I can't believe how big she is getting. We started rice cereal today, and she loves it! She tries her best to talk, and when you sing to her she tries her best to sing too. She is such a joy and a good baby! I thank God so much for my 2 sweet blessings! She goes to bed around 10:00 and awakes each morning about 6-6:30 (cereal sure helps). Believe me, I have been loving these full nights of rest, especially since I have started back to work. We venture to the doc. for 4 month shots next Friday and I am anxious to find out how much she weighs. I hope everyone is surviving the cold! We ventured out tonight because I just had a need to check out Dillards sidewalk sale (always love the shoe sale), and I just had to use my Gymbucks (Kyle says I treat a Gymbuck as if they were a block of gold)! He was a sport to set in the car (yes with the heat running and the burning gas that he reminds me of) and let me take my time. Hannah slept the entire hour and half I was in the mall. As long as she is happy and not crying Kyle is able to tolerate my shopping. However, as soon as the first fuss begins he is on the cell phone and my "ME" time is over! Today was a Great Day for Kyle, known as "Daddy" around our house. I had worked it out with many of our friends and family that we love so much to meet at Logan's today after church for a "Surprise" Celebration for Kyle's Birthday. I didn't get to do anything special for him when he turned 30, so I thought I would make it up to him a few years later. After working with some of our best friends "The Parsley's" we came up with a plan to get him there without him thinking anything suspicious. We ran into many roadblocks, but in the end was able to pull it off. He has told me all day that he was "Totally" Surprised, and didn't have a clue! Mission Accomplished! We enjoyed visiting with everyone and hope everyone had a great time. Thanks so much to everyone that attended and for making Kyle's 32nd birthday an event that he will never forget. Today, Kyle celebrated his 32nd birthday! I told him that I would make him anything he wanted for dinner tonight, and he really made my job easy... Since it was prayer meeting night and to nasty to get the baby out anyways, we couldn't make it out to dinner. So he just made a request for homemade biscuits, country ham, and banana pudding. That was easy enough and didn't require a lot of time or effort! We had dinner together, he opened his gifts, and he commented that he had a wonderful day. I am so glad he is my husband, soul mate, father of my children, and most importantly a pretty good guy to put up with me sometimes...LOL. Hallie made him the sweetest birthday card with drawings of everyone in our family. There will be more to post later... Hope you enjoy the photos!

A Look Back Over 2008... A Rather Eventful Year

Today as I was rearranging some photo albums and doing some scrapbooking, I couldn't help but reflect back over the past year and all the important events that have taken place in our lives. We have had so many blessings and I am so thankful for a great year! As one of my favorite movies, Forest Gump, states "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get." Some in the box we like and others we don't! It is the hard times and things we don't necessarily like about life that comes our way that makes us stronger. I had an older gentleman that I took care of early in my career tell me that "Life is not necessarily about having the best of everything, but taking everything you have and making the best out of it." So true, and a statement that I will carry to my grave with me.. Looking forward to 2009... and hope it will be as well as the years past. When I read Carol's blog entry this afternoon, it made me go back and look at when I started this blog journey (August 2, 2008). It has been a wonderful lifeline for me to keep up with everyone's beautiful families and what is going on in their lives. I Love It!
