17 months old...She CAN'T be!

It is okay mommy....growing up is just part of living! No matter what...I will always be your baby! And, I am going to marry my daddy too....read my shirt...I have the biggest crush on him!

She Can't Be! I woke up this morning knowing that today my sweet Hannah is already 17 months old. It seems that the baby stage is passing me right by and it has all happened so fast. It seems just like yesterday that I laid my eyes on this sweet, baby girl for the first time and my life so gratefully changed! Now, she is an energetic toddler who loves climbing, coloring, listening to music, dancing, playing in the cabinets,playing with her baby dolls, and most of all... being her Big Sis's shadow. To say she brings so many smiles to my face each day is a definite, but the way she makes my heart feel when she wraps those sweet arms around my neck and gives me a squeeze hug with a grunt and "pop" kiss is indescribable. Yes, I am sure you can tell...I am SOOO in love with her! And, I think she is pretty fond of me too. She has a good vocabulary....mama, dada, cat, dog, "wow," bye-bye, no, baby, ba-ba (for her milk), and nana. She isn't a big eater at all, likes a lot of different foods, just not to much at a time. Instead of three big meals with snacks in between, she is more like 6 small meals and snacks if necessary. Today we visited Dr. Kries to get one of her shots that she wasn't able to get when she went for her 15 month well-child visit due to them being out of the vaccine. She weighed almost 25lbs (50% tile in weight) and is 33 inches long (89%tile in height). We then headed to the mall for some shopping with Nana and Papa. We did secretly visit the mouse at Chuck E Cheese and ride the carousel. All a secret though...Big Sis would be upset if she knew we went without her. I have loved spending the day with you Hannah Claire, and I am looking so forward to lots and lots of fun with you and your Big Sis this weekend. I guess we will let daddy join our tea parties if he insists. And, one last thing.....I am so glad God picked me to be your mommy! I love you to the moon and back!

Valentine's Party...80th Birthday Celebration...

On Friday Hannah and I decided to venture to school to visit with Hallie for her Valentine's Day Party. Hannah really enjoyed playing with all the neat things in the classroom and seeing all of Hallie's classmates. Today, we ventured to Louisville to help Kyle's grandmother on his mom's side of the family...better known as MaMa... celebrate her 80th birthday. Everyone had a great time, and I am so glad that I have been blessed to know such a wonderful person. She is so fun-loving...loves Kentucky basketball more than anyone I know, and is so amazingly creative. Happy Birthday MaMa...we love you lots! After the birthday we ventured to my favorite malls...St. Matthews and Oxmoor for a little shopping and then to Chili's for dinner. I hope everyone has a wonderful Valentine's Day!

Homemade Valentine Cards

Last weekend I asked Hallie if she would like to "make" Valentine cards for her class and friends or if she wanted me to buy some. She immediately said "MAKE!" This made me so excited! My mom used to do things like this with me as a child...and I have to admit that I LOVE doing things like this with my girls. Hallie loves crafts, cooking, and if involves glue and scissors you can count her in. I made a quick trip to Hobby Lobby and Wal-mart Saturday morning, and then the Valentine card making was on. We even talked daddy into helping do some of the major cutting...at first against his will, and he even questioned..."Whose idea it was to do this?" But, after they were all completed...we all knew that we had a GREAT time making memories! Isn't that what family is all about? Hallie was so proud of the finished product, and it made my heart feel so warm and fuzzy to see the sparkle in her eyes. I love to see people feel good about what they have accomplished! While we made cards Hannah decided to color...not in a coloring book, but on herself and clothes. Oh well, thank goodness for washable markers and my lifetime investment in Shout. I took a pic of Hallie in her Valentine outfit before school this morning that my sweet friend, Aimee, made for her. I think she did a fantastic job! I will take some more photos later...which will include Hannah.

I have been meaning to get my blog up to speed for the last week or so....So, here goes! A few Saturdays ago I went with some great friends to watch "Leap Year." We had dinner at O'Charleys, headed to the movie, and then spent some time at Barnes and Noble socializing. It was great to have a Girl's Night Out with such sweet, genuine, and fun-loving women. Thanks for such a GREAT time girls! Hannah Claire turned 16 months old January 19th, and she has officially mastered climbing up on all the great room furniture. She is so proud of herself when she does this, as well as receives lots of cheers from her Big Sis too! I can't believe how fast 16 months has passed, but most of all I can't believe how much joy this little blond haired girl has brought to our family. Even though she keeps everyone on their toes, yes, she is like a human tornado most days (meaning she can drag out more stuff in 3 minutes that I can put back in 30 minutes), I still could never imagine my life without her in it! I remind myself often as I am constantly picking up behind her...that this stage will soon pass...and I am going to miss it. Then, we were all struck by the SnowStorm of 2010! We watched the storm come in from Uncle Adam and Aunt Emily's new home surrounded by great family, food, and friends. With this came lots of sledding and snow fun for Hallie and Daddy at Uncle Marty's and Aunt Steph's. This snow is the first big snowfall that my girls have seen, so we tried to enjoy it as much as possible. We built "Mrs. SnowWoman," drank lots of hot chocolate, and most of all enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Last week we spent lots of time running to basketball practices, playing makeup games, and on Friday Hallie got to help Cousin Macy celebrate her 6th Birthday! Well, this pretty much sums up the last few weeks at the Cassady House. I am looking forward to Spring...flip flops...flowers...and sunshine!
