We took a little 4 night getaway to the Smokies to bring in the New Year. When Kyle and I first got married this was a tradition that we loved to do every year (sometimes with friends and sometimes alone), but once the kiddos started coming, we missed a few years here and there. So around August this year we decided that we would try it again! We had a wonderful time and got to spend some quality time with our girls. The time share that we own in just opened up a new indoor water park, so you can just imagine the excitement in Hallie's eyes. It came all inclusive with her favorite thing about a waterpark, standing under the water fall when the big bucket at the top of the play ground spills over. Normally we would venture up to Gatlinburg to the Space Needle to see the ball drop and bring in the New Year with lots of fireworks and people we don't even know (just because Kyle and I love all the excitement), but with the rigid temps and enormous amounts of traffic, we spent it in our room eating ice cream sandwiches (all of which Kyle made a run to Wal-Mart to pick up around 10:30). We ventured up into the National Park to see some beautiful mountain scenery, all of which I think was by accident or my husband taking the wrong turn, but he swears that it was his whole intention. Oh well, after one and half hours driving on curvy roads and me in the back getting car sick, I can definitely say the scenery was worth it all (thank goodness Hannah Claire decided to take a long nap during this adventure). Hallie was amazed at all the houses she seen with smoke coming out of their chimneys. Her first reaction was that they were on fire and we needed to call someone...it was so funny! I got to do a little shopping at the Tanger, and got a nice after Christmas suprise from my dear, sweet hubby. Thank you SWEETHEART for my new purse and wallet! Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's and is looking forward to 2010! I am so thankful for a wonderful year and all of God's blessings on our home. I really dread going back to work on Monday....sure going to miss my girls (and Kyle too). Hope you enjoy the photos and everyone is staying Warm!
We made a pitstop in Crossville to visit Papa and Grandmother who were staying at Fairfield Glade. It was great to break up the trip down...and we got great hospitality...chicken strip dinner and a wonderful country ham breakfast the next morning.

The New Wyndam Wilderness Resort

All Smiles...it was beautiful...can't wait to visit again in the Summer!

It was HUGE! This picture is only about 1/8 of it!

Waiting for the whistle to blow and the bucket to spill over

The END result..SHE LOVES IT!

Hannah loved talking to the bear!

Hallie and the bear!

Hannah's favorite part about the waterpark...sitting in the little lawn chairs on the ground

Enjoying the slides...

Again...she couldn't get enough of it!

Daddy and Hannah in the Wave Pool

The Old Mill Resturant...my favorite breakfast stop!

I also love all their little gift shops

Dad and the girls by the little Pigeon River...yes this picture was taken on our excursion up into the mountains, and by my request to stop the car due to my car sickness

Everyone loves the Smokies! Daddy and mom loved it some much they were seriously considering buying real estate there before daddy's stroke. Of course, as much as they say it was the Smokies, Kelli and I know where their pride and joy resides!lol Glad you had fun!
OK, so next time Uncle Adam and Aunt Emily need to come along! I LOVE water parks more than anything!!! Looks like a blast! We need to plan a fun trip sometime!!! (Still waiting on a GNO too!) :)
Glad you all had a great trip and too bad we didn't all get a chance to get together! Our kids were pretty disappointed that tubbing at Ober Gatlinburg didn't work out! Oh well, I think they have made up for it by playing in the snow here for two days!
