Strawberries....Strawberries....and More Strawberries
I am happy to say that my dear husband reports that his "Stock" in me went up drastically after this afternoon! He even told me that it was so high that no one on Wall Street would even be able to afford it! Yes, I did...I capped 10 quarts of strawberries and made my sweet family their most favorite freezer jam in the whole wide world. Hopefully, this will be enough to last through the winter, because when I whip up some homemade biscuits with butter, they all eat, eat, and eat some more. Even though I had a cram packed and crazy day at work today, and had to come home to 10 quarts of strawberries that put a gigantic frown on my face, I can say honestly say that 4 hours later after it was done and the mess was cleaned up, I now have a smile and can report that I would do it 10 times over for them again. I love cooking for my family and friends, especially when my sweet Hallie tells me several times throughout the whole process that I cook good and that I make the best jam ever. She even tells me that it is better than Cracker Barrel's. strawberry jelly. Wow, that makes me feel 10' tall! So, with that being said, I am pretty sure that I will keep making it for many years to come!

Sounds delish! I love strawberries but have never made jam. You are such a Marha Stewart, I'm impressed!
Yummy!! I need to go to Staffanne's cooking
school!!
That sounds so good! So I'm guessing you bought your strawberries somewhere like Wal-Mart or Kroger's?
Lesley,
No...I would never recommend making jam from store bought berries. It is just so much better if they are smaller and home grown. Kyle got them from some older gentleman at Smiths Grove. Out of the 10 quarts he bought, there was maybe 3 that was bad. They were beautiful berries!
I meant to say that only "3" berries were bad out of all 10 quarts.
Looks yummy!!
I want some pretty please! You are forever making me hungry! :) LOL
If it's anything like the corn I put up last year....it will be rationed!ha! My neighbor sent over strawberries from the same place and they were fabulous!
